چکیده

Abstract We present updated seismic hazard maps for the United Kingdom (UK) intended use with National Annex revised edition of Eurocode 8. The last national UK were produced by Musson and Sargeant (Eurocode 8 zoning UK. British Geological Survey Report CR/07/125, Kingdom, 2007). model uses an up-to-date earthquake catalogue Isles, which completeness periods have been reassessed, a modified source model. also incorporates some advances in ground motion modelling since 2007, including host-to-target adjustments models selected logic tree. For first time, new are provided not only peak acceleration (PGA) but spectral at 0.2 s (SA 0.2s ) 1.0 5% damping on rock (time-averaged shear wave velocity top 30 m Vs30 ≥ 800 m/s) four return periods, 475 2475 years. most is generally low increases slightly North Wales, England–Wales border region, western Scotland. A similar spatial variation observed PGA SA effects more pronounced . Hazard curves, uniform spectra, disaggregation analysis calculated sites. compared previous 2007 2013 European (Woessner et al. Bull Earthq Eng 13:3553–3596, 2015). There slight increase from to this work; whereas lower than indicated maps.

Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Map on the French National Territory

Seismic hazard assessment for the construction of earthquake-resistant buildings, in particular of critical facilities, in France follows traditionally a deterministic approach. The aim of the French Working Group EPAS (Evaluation Probabiliste de l’Aléa Sismique / Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment), under the aegis of the AFPS (Association Française de Génie Parasismique / French Associat...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
